Trace Labs is a non-profit dedicated to crowdsourcing Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) to generate new leads for active, real-world missing persons investigations. At BSides Toronto, we're bringing our OSINT Search Party CTF — a hands-on, gamified introduction to OSINT that advances our #OSINT4Good mission.

Unlike traditional, theoretical CTFs with pre-determined flags, our event features zero fictional scenarios. Every piece of intelligence uncovered by contestants serves as a real potential lead, which is vetted and passed directly to law enforcement to assist in ongoing investigations.

This event is built for first-time participants and experienced OSINTers alike. On-site coaches will be on hand throughout to help teams get oriented, share tips on scoring and strong submissions, and guide you as you work real cases with a real digital footprint. Come learn a new skill, sharpen one you've already got, and put it toward something that matters.
